VSFX 420 Week 1:

Update 1: m not going to be able to take reference images till Friday, so today’s goal is to start looking at models. I started with Megascans because I remembered the website having good food models.

I grabbed a barrel model and an apple model, shown below.

I think I’m going to go with the apple and keep working on the material of the apple. The hypershade network is below.

I added a small amount of subsurface and played around with the IOR and specular roughness.

Next class I’m going to take one of the photo sets and match camera for practice. I also want to take photo set and see if I can get an alpha from the shadows using a luminance key in Nuke.

Update 2:

Zach and I asked our good friend Drew Daly if we could use his camera to capture our clean plates.

From here I setup a camera match.
